Care Charity Plans Rapid Expansion with COA Solutions
December 2007 - COA Solutions (formerly CedarOpenAccounts), has been selected to provide a new financial management system for Mission Care, the interdenominational Christian organisation providing residential and nursing care for older people. The new software will support the charity's growth plan to double the scale of its operations over the next three to five years.
The charity required a scalable financial management system to replace the restrictive accounting system it had in place. It chose COA Solutions' OpenAccounts system due to its flexibility, ease of use and ability to integrate with its existing business systems. The new OpenAccounts system will enable Mission Care to centralise financial operations across its head office in Bromley and six different care centres in the South East of England thereby standardising practices, avoiding duplication of effort and resources and ensuring better control of accounting practices.
The OpenAccounts eBis exchange system will allow managers to remotely access financial information via the web from the care homes. The charity will also dramatically increase efficiencies and save on resources with an integrated web-based invoice approval system. This will enable care home managers and service directors to remotely approve purchase invoices online with visibility of a scanned image of the invoice, therefore eliminating paper flow and reducing administration time with less re-keying of data.
Jonathan Crisp, director of finance at Mission Care commented, "The OpenAccounts system will maximise efficiencies across our business operations. We anticipate that the time spent preparing, presenting and distributing our monthly accounts will reduce by 50 per cent to just five days."
Crisp adds, "I have worked with COA Solutions in a previous role and feel confident that the OpenAccounts system will provide a solid foundation for the organisation's growth over the coming years. COA Solutions also has an active presence in the UK charity sector, fully understands our business and provides its customers with excellent support."
COA Solutions' OpenAccounts system is planned for go-live in April 2008.
