How to prosper in a downturn - the new reality for HR

How to prosper in a downturn - the new reality for HR
Wednesday afternoon, 20th May 2009 - London Chamber of Commerce & Industry

Executive briefing for HR executives

At a time when the HR department is becoming increasingly important in the development and delivery of business strategy, the objective of this session is to offer practical advice and guidance to senior HR professionals on how to manage talent during a downturn, learning from real-life examples of best practice (good and bad), and how best to prepare for the upturn, when it eventually comes.

The following topics will be covered:

  • HR and Management author and commentator Richard Donkin will outline how organisations should manage talent in a downturn, exploring the difficult issues of how to motivate staff in an environment that may also include restructuring and staff reductions
  • Managing editor of Sift Media, Steve Roth, will outline examples of best practice (good and bad) based on case studies from the extensive HR Zone database
  • Human capital measurement guru Rick Emslie will talk about how successful organisations have used HR analytics to measure, monitor, benchmark and improve HR performance when times are hard

There will be the opportunity to ask the speakers questions in a formal panel session, to seek practical advice from the experts and judge if your organisation is in a position to move ahead. There will also be ample opportunity to network with your peers, to understand how they are coping in this environment and what lessons might be learned from them.

A CPD evidence of attendance certificate will be provided to all those attendees who would like this seminar to count towards their Continual Professional Development.

We invite you to attend what will be an enlightening and important session. To register for the event, please click below or call the registration hotline on 08451 605555.
