Ethics Not Dead In The Software Industry
We recently received a call from one of our Account Managers who had seen a posting on a popular accountancy forum asking for help. The person who had posted the question had been looking for a finance system (from one of our competitors) when a news story broke about them having made redundancies. Concerned by this, he had decided to seek other peoples’ opinions of the company and also ask for alternative companies he might approach.
There followed a long string of responses, many penned either by the supplier in question, their competitors or even ex employees regarding the best course of action. Interestingly, although times are tough and everyone is chasing the sale, not one person stooped to rubbishing their competition, so perhaps ethics aren’t dead after all?
Or perhaps we have all learned from the 2002 experiences of British Airways vs Virgin Airlines where BA, accused of a dirty tactics campaign, paid a record settlement to Virgin to resolve the matter. Either way, if you are currently choosing a new software supplier and are concerned about their future, why not download our whitepaper on admin/begin-download.php?do_ID=684">choosing a software supplier to ensure you cover all your bases before you start?
