17th December 2008 - UK business management and information systems provider, COA Solutions, today announces that it has signed up to the Green Charter of the Business Application Software Developers Association (BASDA), the voice of the UK software industry. Mark Thompson, Managing Director of COA Solutions says, “We were one of the first companies to sign up to the BASDA Green Charter demonstrating our dedication to reducing our carbon footprint and our commitment to helping businesses to reduce their own emissions. The IT software industry has a crucial role to play in helping businesses to move towards a carbon efficient economy as without the right software systems in place, organisations are unable to effectively reduce waste and cannot accurately measure and track their carbon footprints.”

By signing up to the BASDA Green Charter, COA Solutions agrees to the following:

Thompson continues, "COA Solutions is fully committed to tailoring our software to address both the business and environmental issues that face organisations today. Our systems provide numerous environmental benefits including the reduction of paper waste and enabling the effective measurement of employees' carbon emissions, whilst delivering substantial and tangible business benefits such as reduced costs, improved efficiency and greater financial control."

In November 2008, COA Solutions was presented with a gold award at this year's National Green Apple Environment Awards in recognition of the environmental benefits of its workflow software. COA Solutions subsidiary, Version One, also received the awards’ highest honour – a 'Green Champion' award for its electronic document management software.
